Born in Melbourne into a musical family Christine studied piano under Veronica Tozer and is self- taught in guitar and recorder. As an adult she pursued her love of ancient music with Greg Dickmans of Elysium Ensemble.Christine’s first foray into ﬁlm music composition for Michaela French lead her to go on to write for, short and feature length films. She also writes music and sound scores for circus and live theatre. In 2007 she composed and recorded the music for Melbourne Queer Film Festival promo.
More recently, Chris composed “Day/Night Voices”, conducted by her from the ground, and sung from rooftops for the 24 Hour Experience. Ballarat and “Do Not Go Gently”, with collaborator Erin McCuskey, featured in the first White Night Ballarat. With a keen interest in all genres of music, she prides herself on being able to compose and arrange music in any style.Chris has a Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapy. She has been a member of a various vocal improvisation and madrigal groups in Melbourne and Ballarat including “Boat Chorus”.Chris is currently writing a cabaret with writer Annie Drum. Now living in Ballarat, she is pursuing a life of composition and singing. She runs workshops in vocal improvisation and is the coordinator/facilitator, for Pinarc’s “Funky Turtles” in Ballarat.
